Yolanda Auyanet, Stuart Skelton & María José Siri Lead Teatro de la Maestranza’s 2023-24 Season

The Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville has announced its 2023-24 season.

Opera

Henrik Nánási conducts a new production of Wagner’s “Tristan und Isolde” by Allex Aguilera. Stuart Skelton, Elisabet Strid, Agnieszka Rehlis, Markus Eiche, Albert Pesendorfer, Jorge Rodríguez-Norton, Fernando Campero, and Juan Antonio Sanabria star.

Performance Dates: Sept. 27-Oct. 3, 2023

Yolanda Auyanet and Berna Perles share the title role of Bellini’s “Norma.” Raffaella Lupinacci, Andrea Niño, Francesco Demuro, Carlos Cosías, Rubén Amoretti, and Luis López Navarro also star. Yves Abel and Pedro Bartolomé conduct the production by Nicola Berloffa.

Performance Dates: Nov. 12-18, 2023

The season will also include the Certamen Nuevas Voces Ciudad de Sevilla.

Javier Camarena and Angel Rodriguez perform in recital.

Performance Date: Feb. 3, 2024

Jone Martínez, Lucía Martín-Cartón, Ruth González, Maite Beaumont, Daniela Mack, Juan Sancho, and Gabriel Bermúdez star in Handel’s “Alcina” with Andrea Marcon conducting.

Performance Dates: Feb. 6-10, 2024

Carretero’s “La Bella Susona” will star Daisy Press, Luis Cansino, José Luis Sola, Federico Fiorio, Marina Pardo, and Andrés Merino. Nacho de Paz conducts.

Performance Dates: March 13 & 15, 2024

Guerrero’s “Los Gavilanes” will be conducted by Óliver Díaz in a production by Mario Gas. Javier Franco, María Rodríguez, Celso Albelo, Sofía Esparza, Lander Iglesias, Esteve Ferrer, and María José Suárez star.

Performance Dates: May 9 & 11, 2024

Ruth González, Silvia Zorita, Enrique Sánchez-Ramos, and Antoni Comas star in “Lazarillo.” 

Performance Date: May 25, 2024

Juan Jesús Rodríguez and Damiano Salerno star in Verdi’s “Nabucco” alongside María José Siri, Maribel Ortega, Simón Orfila, Darío Ruso, Alessandra Volpe, Mónica Redondo, Antonio Corianò, and Santiago Vidal.

Performance Date: June 13-22, 2024

Teodor Currentzis conducts Mozart’s Requiem.

Václav Luks conducts Händel’s “Messiah.”
