The Philadelphia Orchestra has announced its 2019-20 season with Yannick Nézet-Séguin celebrating his eighth season as music director.

Here is a look at the vocal highlights for the orchestra next season.

Nézet-Séguin and the Fabulous Philadelphians launch the 120th season with an Opening Night Concert and Gala featuring legendary opera singer Plácido Domingo. The evening, which marks the start of Nézet-Séguin’s eighth season as music director, will feature beloved highlights from Italian grand opera.

Performance Date: Sept. 18, 2019

Joyce DiDonato joins Yannick Nézet-Séguin with the Orchestre Metropolitan de Montreal in Mozart concert arias and arias from “La Clemenza di Tito.”  The program also includes Bruckner’s Symphony No. 4.

Performance Date: Nov. 24, 2019

Nézet-Séguin conducts Bach’s Mass in B Minor with the Westminster Symphonic Choir.

Performance Dates: Dec. 5-7, 2019

Jane Glover conducts Handel’s Messiah in time for the Holiday season.

Performance Date: Dec. 22, 2019

Stéphane Denève will conduct a concert entitled Sorcerers, Spells, and Magic with the Westminster Symphonic Choir performing the “L’Enfant et L’sortilege.” The concert will also showcase Dukas’ “The Sorcerers’ Apprentice,” selections from John William’s “Harry Potter” score and the overture from “The Magic Flute.”

Performance Dates: Feb. 13-15, 2020

Marin Alsop will conduct highlights from Gershwin’s “Porgy and Bess” with Angel Blue and Lester Lynch.

Performance Dates: March 5-7, 2020 

Angel Blue, Rolando Villazón, Quinn Kelsey, and Mihoko Yujimura sing Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with Nézet-Séguin conducting. The program also includes the composer’s first symphony.

Performance Dates: April 2-5, 2020

Nézet-Séguin is set to conduct Strauss’ “Elektra” with Christine Goerke in the title role, Michael Martens, Amber Wagner, Jay Hunter Morris, and Mikhail Petrenko. Jonathan Loy directs the semi-staged production.

Performance Dates: May 15-19, 2020
