XIII Concorso Internazionale per Cantanti Lirici ‘Città di Pienza’ Announces Winners

The XIII Concorso Internazionale per Cantanti Lirici “Città di Pienza” has announced its winners.

The competition, which took place Nov. 9 -11, 2023 named Giuseppe Michelangelo Infantino to the top prize. He will take home a € 2,000 euro cash prize from the Comune della Città di Pienza. Aitana Sanz-Perez obtained a € 1,500 award from the Fondazione San Carlo Borromeo and Yeajin Jeon got a € 1,000 euro prize from Comune della Città di Pienza.

The “Andy Johnson” for the best baritone voice went to Daniel Gyungmin Gwon, which comes with a € 500 cash prize.

Additionally, there were several special prizes. Audition prizes included Jeon Yeajin with the “Teatro Massimo Bellini” di Catania prize; Yuka Wada with the “Maggio Musicale Fiorentino” award and “Deutsche Opera” award; Aitana Sanz-Perez with the “Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova” prize; Giada Venturini with the “Teatro Massimo” Palermo prize; and Francesca Paoletti with the “Teatro Fraschini” di Pavia prize. Finally, Giuseppe Michelangelo Infantino, Daniel Gyungmin Gwon, and Alessandra Kirsanova took home the “Landestheater Coburg” prize.
