Xabier Anduaga, Emily D’Angelo & María Bayo Lead Fundación Baluarte’s 2021-22 Season

Fundación Baluarte and Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra in Spain have announced their 2021-22 season featuring concerts, operas, and chamber music.

For the purposes of this article, we will only focus on operatic performances.

Opera 

Andrea Jiménez leads a concert performance of Arrieta’s “Marina” with José Luis Sola, Borja Quiza, and Pablo Ruiz. The Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra and Coro Lírico AGAO will be led by José Miguel Pérez-Sierra.

Performance Date: Oct. 19, 2021

Sergio Escobar, Artur Rucinski, Maria Pia Piscitelli, Maria José Montiel, and Sara Blanch lead Verdi’s “Un Ballo in maschera” with Yves Abel conducting.

Performance Dates: Feb. 4 & 6, 2022

Jessica Pratt and Xabier Anduaga perform arias and duets from “Lucrezia Borgia,” “La Sonnambula,” “La fille du régiment,” “Lucia Lammermoor,” “I puritani,” “L’elisir d’amore,” and “Linda di Chamounix.” Luis Miguel Ménde conducts.

Performance Dates: April 4, 2022

Emily D’Angelo sings the title role in Händel’s “Serse” with Lucy Crowe, Iestyn Davies, Daniela Mack, and Neal Davies.
The English Concert is led by Harry Bicket.

Performance Date: May 20, 2022

Chamber Music 

María Bayo, Dani Espasa, and Vespres d’Arnadí perform music by Pergolesi, Vivaldi, Scarlatti, Handel, Lotti, Legrenzi, Bononcini, and Stradella.

Performance Date: May 4, 2022

Concerts 

Oliver Diaz conducts Arrieta’s “San Franco de Sena” with Alejandro Roy, Beatriz Diaz, Angel Odena, Ricardo Bojorquez, Julien Jimenez, and Itsaso Loinaz.

Performance Date: Dec. 30, 2021
