Wilmington Concert Opera to Present ‘Hansel and Gretel’

Wilmington Concert Opera is set to present “Hansel and Gretel” as part of its “Back to Before” season series.

The opera, which opens on Nov. 10 with a sensory friendly performance on Nov. 12, 2023, will be conducted by Timothy Crawford (who will also perform at the piano), and directed by Renee Macdonald.

The showcase is set to star – MajaLisa FritzHuspen, Tracy Sturgis, Anita Lyons, Kevin Patrick, Elise Mark, Marisa Robinson, and Kirsten C. Kunkle. The chorus will feature Rachel Cetel, Hayley Collins, Rachel DiBlasio, Genevieve Hahn, Matt Hearn, Liz Hornberger, Molly Jane Lloyd, Lisa Panzer, Mary Reppy,  Jacob Sturgis, and Anna Maria Yates.

For outreach performances, audiences will see Olivia Broderick, Amanda Staub, Ryan Colbert, John Michael,  and Marisa Robinson.

All performances will take place at the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant in Wilmington, DE with the Nov. 12 showcase featuring a gingerbread house making one hour before showtime.
