Wiener Staatsoper to Stream ‘Otello’ with Jonas Kaufmann Instead of ‘Luisa Miller’

By Francisco Salazar

The Wiener Staatsoper has announced that it will stream a 2023 production of “Otello” on Feb. 26, 2026 instead of the originally scheduled “Luisa Miller.”

The company will stream the performance starring Jonas Kaufmann, Ludovic Tézier, Bekhzod Davronov, Rachel Willis-Sørensen, and Szilvia Vörös. Alexander Soddy conducts the production by Adrian Noble.

The company was originally set to live stream a performance of “Luisa Miller” with Nadine Sierra and Giorgio Berrugi. No explanation was made for the cancelation.

“Luisa Miller” is set to run through March 1. The next live stream will be on March 5 when the company presents a production of “Nabucco,” starring Anna Netrebko.
