Wiener Staatsoper Opens New Theater the NEST

On Dec. 7, The Wiener Staatsoper opened a new theater, The NEST, especially designed and created for young audiences and families.
The new theater will offer a full program in December and opened with a children’s opera premiere.
The NEST will also offer 100 events on stage in the first season and will be a place for audiences to discover new music. In the first month it will offer a Christmas concert as well as the Nesterval theater company conquers Wagner’s “Götterdämmerung.” There will also be workshops, discussions, and other smaller formats aimed at all interested parties.
In a statement, General Director of teh Wiener Staatsoper Bogdan Roščić said, “I invite you to enter this new microcosm of musical theater with us – let’s open a new, important chapter in the history of the Vienna State Opera together.”
