Wiener Staatsoper Announces New Cast Change for ‘Le Nozze di Figaro’

The Wiener Staatsoper has announced another cast change for “Le Nozze di Figaro.”

The company said that Riccardo Fassi will sing the role of Figaro replacing Peter Kellner on Nov. 9.

This is the second performance Fassi sings the opera replacing the originally announced singer. Previously he sang the Nov. 6 performance.

Fassi is known for his Verdi, Mozart, Bellini, and Puccini interpretations. He has performed with the Wiener Staatsoper, the Teatro alla Scala di Milano, Opera de Paris, the Royal Opera House, and the Berliner Staatsoper. This season he is set to perform with the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Berlin State Opera, and Opera de Las Palmas, among others.

Fassi will join a cast that includes Michael Nagy, Golda Schultz, Katharina Konradi, Patricia Nolz, and Stephanie Houtzeel. Adam Fischer conducts the production by Barrie Kosky.
