Wiener Staatsoper Announces New Cast Change for ‘Die Fledermaus’

The Wiener Staatsoper has announced a cast change for its production of “Die Fledermaus” for its performance on Jan. 6, 2024.

The company said that Ilia Staple will sing the role of Adele.

Staple is an Austrian coloratura soprano who is a member of the Vienna State Opera ensemble. She has also been a member of the ensemble at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich and has performed at the Tiroler Festspiele Erl, Musical Festival Bad Leonfelden, and Salzburg Landestheater.

She joins a cast that includes Johannes Martin Kränzle, Camilla Nylund, Wolfgang Bankl, Patricia Nolz, Hiroshi Amako, Martin Häßler, Norbert Ernst.
