The Wiener Staatsoper has announced that tenor Massimo Giordano will not be appearing in the role of Ismaele in Verdi’s “Nabucco” for the performance on Nov. 9, 2021.

As a result, Carlos Osuna will take over the role. Osuna joins a cast that includes Saioa Hernández, Szilvia Vörös, Roberto Tagliavini, Dan Paul Dumitrescu, Daniel Jenz, Aurora Marthens, and Amartuvshin Enkhbat in the title role. Paolo Carignani conducts a production by Günter Krämer.

Osuna is the fourth replacement for the role. Giordano initially replaced Alessandro Liberatore for the whole run, and Freddie De Tommaso replaced Giordano for the performance on Nov. 6, 2021.

Giordano is still slated to sing the final performance on Nov. 12, 2021.
