The Wiener Staatsoper has announced that tenor Massimo Giordano will no longer be appearing in the final performance of Verdi’s “Nabucco” on Nov. 12, 2021.

As a result, tenor Carlos Osuna takes over the role. Osuna joins a cast that includes Saioa Hernández, Szilvia Vörös, Roberto Tagliavini, Dan Paul Dumitrescu, Daniel Jenz, Aurora Marthens, and Plácido Domingo in the title role. Paolo Carignani conducts a production by Günter Krämer.

Osuna is the fourth replacement for the role. Giordano initially replaced Alessandro Liberatore for the whole run, and Freddie De Tommaso replaced Giordano for the performance on Nov. 6, 2021.
