Wiener Staatsoper Announces Cast Change for ‘L’incoronazione di Poppea’

The Wiener Staatsoper has announced a cast change for its June 8, 2021 performance of “L’incoronazione di Poppea.”

The company announced that Szilvia Vörös will sing the role of Ottavia replacing Christina Bock.

Vörös is a member of the Wiener Staatsoper ensemble and has performed with the Budapest State Opera and Salzburg Festival. Her repertoire includes works by Gounod, Giordano, Bellini, Rossini, Verdi and Wagner. With the Wiener Staatsoper she has performed Fenena in “Nabucco,” Anna in “Les Troyens,” Julie in “Dantons Tod,” and Hippolyta in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”

The mezzo-soprano will join a cast that includes Kate Lindsey, Slávka Zámečníková, Xavier Sabata, Willard White, and Vera-Lotte Boecker. Pablo Heras-Casado conducts the final performance of the run.
