The Wiener Staatsoper has announced a cast change for its Sept. 15 performance of Strauss’ “Daphne.”

The company said that Vera-Lotte Boecker will sing the title role instead of Hanna-Elisabeth Müller.

Boecker is a member of the ensemble of the Wiener Staatsoper who has performed at the Komische Oper Berlin, Salzburg Festival, Munich Opera Festival, and Royal Danish Opera, among others. Her repertoire includes the music of Verdi, Rossini, Strauss, Henze, Halevy, Pucci, Monteverdi, and many more.

She is set to join a cast that includes Günther Groissböck, Noa Beinart, Daniel Jenz, and David Butt Philip. Sebastian Weigle conducts the production by Nicolas Joel.

Müller returns to the production on Sept. 18 and 21, 2023.
