Wexford Festival Opera Announces Closing Night Cast Change

The Wexford Festival Opera has announced a cast change for its closing night performance.

The festival announced that Claudia Boyle⁩ and Pietro Adaíni will replace Lisette Oropesa, who will be unable to travel due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Boyle is a well known Irish soprano who has performed at the Semperoper Dresden, Irish National Opera, English National Opera, and Teatro dell’Opera di Roma.

Meanwhile, Adaíni is a rising star Italian tenor who has performed at the Teatro Carlo Felice, Macerata Opera Festival, Teatro Regio di Torino, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, and Royal Opera Muscat.

The recital will be performed on Oct. 14 and will be streamed on RTE.

The festival opens on Oct. 11 and is set to showcase Celine Byrne, Tarra Erraught, and John Molloy, among others.
