Pianist and composer Felix Jarrar, soprano Caroline Spaeth, and mezzo-soprano Rebecca Sacks are set to present a concert sponsored by the Wednesday Afternoon Music Club.

Their program will feature works by Jarrar and lyricist/librettist Bea Goodwin including “Voyelles” (text by Rimbaud), the New England premiere of “Queen Mary’s Lament,” and the world premiere of the acapella song cycle “Bottled Poetry.” There will also be works by Donizetti.

The afternoon of song and opera will take place at the Jesse Lee United Methodist Church in Easton, CT on Jan. 15 beginning at 2 p.m.  The concert is to be followed by a reception. Admission is free.

Jarrar and Goodwin previously teamed up the award-winning song cycle “Songs of the Soul Beams,” an operatic adaptation of Charles Dickens’s “A Christmas Carol,” the jazz opera “Tabula Rasa (the story of Kiki de Montparnasse),” and the micro opera “Patience and Pearl.”
