WDR Tage Alter Musik in Herne Announces November 2022 Slate

The WDR Tage Alter Musik in Herne has announced its festival for 2022.

For the purposes of this article, our focus will be solely on opera and vocal performances.

It all kicks off with Benjamin Bagby and Sequentia presenting music from the 14th century.

Performance Date: Nov. 10, 2022

Next up is La Florida Capella under Marian Polin as they present music by Strozzi, Antonio Cesti, Vitali, and Viviani. Soprano Federico Fiori will perform as the soloist.

Performance Date: Nov. 11, 2022 

La Capella Ducale and Musica Fiata will perform Kerll’s “PIa et fortis mulier.”

Performance Date: Nov. 11, 2022 

Bernasconi’s “L’Huomo” will be presented with such soloists as Alice Lackner, Maria Ladurner, Philipp Mathmann, Roberta Mameli, Florian Götz, Simon Bode, Anna Autumn, and Johanna Falkinger. They will perform alongside Ensemble 1700.

Performance Date: Nov. 12, 2022

Sophie Harmsen, David Fischer, Ylva Sofia Stenberg, Bruno Taddia, Karolina Bengtson, Daniel Ochoa, and Taejun Sun will headline Hadyn’s “La fedelt`s premiata.” Anderas Spering conducts the Capella Augustina.

Performance Date: Nov. 12, 2022

I Fagiolini and conductor Robert Hollingworth will perform music by Claudio Monteverdi, Adriano Banchieri, Giovanni Croce, Orazio Vecchi, John Wilbye, Henry Purcell, Benjamin Britten, and Clément Janequin, among others.

Performance Date: Nov. 13, 2022
