Netflix has released the first teaser to Pablo Larrain’s Maria Callas biopic “Maria.”

The film, which had its world premiere, at the Venice Film Festival tells the story of the world’s greatest opera singer, Maria Callas, during her final days in 1970s Paris.

Angelina Jolie stars as Maria Callas alongside Pierfrancesco Favino, Alba Rohrwacher, Valeria Golino, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and Haluk Bilginer. The film was produced by Larraín, Juan De Dios Larraín, Jonas Dornbach, and Lorenzo Mieli.

The film is generating Oscar buzz for Angelina Jolie as critics raved about the actress stating, “Jolie is a painting to be stared at in Pablo Larraín’s opulent drama, tottering around Paris in the 70s and drawing us into tragedy as thoroughly as Bellini or Puccini”

“Maria” opens in select theaters in the U.S. on Nov. 27 and on Netflix Dec. 11.
