Watch OperaVision’s Stream Of María José Montiel As ‘Carmen’ From Beijing

OperaVision is set to stream “Carmen” from the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing on Oct. 25, 2019.

The famed Bizet masterwork will star María José Montiel in the title role with Warren Mok as Don José. Yuan Chenye will be Escamillo while Zhou Xiaolin will be Micaëla. Zhang Guoyong will conduct a production directed by Francesca Zambello.

The stream kicks off at 5 p.m. Central European Time. That’s around 12 p.m. Eastern time and 9 a.m. Pacific time for the start time. It will be available for repeat viewings on Opera Vision until April 24, 2020.

The streaming service is free through OperaVision, which, per its official website, is a project “supported by the European Union’s Creative Europe program, OperaVision builds on the success of The Opera Platform, with more contributing opera companies from more countries, under the editorial supervision of Opera Europa, the European association of opera companies and festivals. OperaVision brings together 30 partners from 18 countries and invites you to travel and discover the diversity of opera from wherever you want, whenever you want.”
