(Updated) Watch Ekaterina Siurina, Thomas Hampson in ‘La Traviata’ Via Vienna State Opera’s Live Stream

The Vienna State Opera will kick off the live stream series for the 2019-20 season with a performance of Verdi’s ever-loved “La Traviata” on Sept. 7, 2019.

The performance, the second of the run, will feature soprano Irina Lungu in the title role with Charles Castronovo as Alfredo, and Thomas Hampson as Germont.

The stream kicks off at 7 p.m. local time and is slated to run until around 9:30 p.m. That’s around 1 p.m. EDT and 10 a.m. PST for the start time.

Per the official website, tickets start at 16 euros (approximately $16 USD) and can be purchased right off the Vienna State Opera’s streaming website. There are options for monthly subscriptions to future performances on the service depending on users’ preference to experience opera from the comfort of their homes.

Next up on the slate of live streams will be Verdi’s “Don Carlo,” Offenbach’s “Les Contes d’Hoffmann,” and Verdi’s “Il Trovatore.”
