Those who missed out on the famed performances of “Il Bravo” from the Wexford Festival will get a chance to check the work out via ARTE.Tv starting on Easter Sunday.

The stream will remain on ARTE’s digital streaming channels as part of its 2019 Opera season.

The work received tremendous accolades, winning the award for Best Opera Production from The Irish Times Irish Theatre Awards. The opera, which was directed by Renaud Doucet and Jonathan Brandini, starred  Rubens Pelizzari, Alessandro Luciano, Gustavo Castillo, Simon Mechlinski, Clarissa Costanzo, and Jennifer Davis.

This production was a major hit from the get-go as it centered on an Italian opera that had seemingly been forgotten for some time. But the festival ensured that it was as big a success as it could muster. Not only was the work streamed worldwide for audiences who couldn’t get to Wexford, but it also took into account those that went to Wexford but couldn’t obtain a ticket for the show. For this latter group, the company actually offered a free stream at the Clayton Whites Hotel.
