Watch ‘Fidelio’ Live Via the Vienna State Opera’s Streaming Service

Beethoven’s “Fidelio” will be showcased via the Vienna State Opera’s live streaming service on April 29, 2019.

Thomas Johannes Mayer will take on the role of Don Pizarro with Brandon Jovanovich as Florestan. Anne Schwanewilms will interpret the iconic role of Leonore while Lars Woldt and Chen Reiss will be Rocco and Marzellina, respectively.

Adam Fischer will conduct the iconic production by Otto Schenk.

The stream kicks off at 7 p.m. local time and is slated to run until around 9:45 p.m. That’s around 2:30 p.m. EDT and 11:30 a.m. PST for the start time.

Per the official website, tickets start at 14 euros (approximately $16 USD) and can be purchased right off the Vienna State Opera’s streaming website. There are options for monthly subscriptions to future performances on the service depending on users’ preference to experience opera from the comfort of their homes.

Next up on the slate of live streams will be “Rigoletto,” “Macbeth,” “Il Barbiere di Siviglia,” “Die Frau Ohne Schatten,” “Dantons Tod,” “Manon,” “Otello,” “Tosca,” and “Aida.”
