Washington National Cathedral to Showcase Händel’s ‘Messiah’ This December

The Washington National Cathedral is set to present a series of performances of Händel’s “Messiah” starting on Dec. 2, 2022.

The showcase will feature soprano Laura Choi Stuart, mezzo-soprano Zoie Reams, tenor Rufus Müller, and bass-baritone Kevin Deas as the soloists.

Choi Stuart has appeared with such companies as Boston Lyric Opera, Opera Boston, Annapolis Opera, Lake George Opera, the In Series, and Opera North. Reams has performed with Austin Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and Quantum Theatre.

Meanwhile, Müller has appeared worldwide in such cities as New York, Toronto, London, and Pennsylvania, among others. Finally, Deas has performed alongside such organizations as the New York Philharmonic, The Philadelphia Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Pacific Symphony, and Florida Orchestra, among many others.

The Dec. 2 performance will start at 7 p.m. It will be followed by two Dec. 3 performances, one at noon and another at 4 p.m. The run of shows ends on Dec. 4, 2022, at 4 p.m.
