
Washington Concert Opera Announces New Cast Change for ‘Luisa Miller’
By Francisco SalazarThe Washington Concert Opera has announced a new cast change for its performance of “Luisa Miller” on April 13, 2025.
The company said, “Due to unforeseen circumstances, soprano Angel Blue had to withdraw from her upcoming debut as Luisa.” As a result, “in her stead, soprano Amanda Woodbury will sing the title role.
This will mark the return of Woodbury to the WCO after her performance in 2017’s “La Straniera.” Woodbury has performed at the Metropolitan Opera, Palm Beach Opera, Irish National Opera, Glyndebourne Festival, Glimmerglass Festival, and Spoleto Festival,
Woodbury will join a cast that includes Kang Wang as Rodolfo, George Gagnidze as Miller, Kate Jackman as Federica, Samuel Weiser as Wurm, and Oren Gradus as Walter.
