Warner Classics to Release ‘Renata Scotto: Sempre Libera, A Farewell’

Warner Classics has announced the release of “Renata Scotto: Sempre Libera, A Farewell.”

The compilation features 48 tracks from recordings she made for Columbia/ EMI. Audiences will hear tracks from seven operas including “La Traviata,” “Madama Butterfly,” and “Medea,” where she appeared alongside Maria Callas. There will also be excerpts from a recital alongside conductor Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari and Verdi’s Requiem under Riccardo Muti.

Audiences will be able to stream the album as well.

The legendary diva passed at age 89. Throughout her career, she performed with such companies as the Metropolitan Opera, Teatro alla Scala, and Lyric Opera of Chicago, among others.
