Wallis Giunta, Emma Bell Headline OperaVision’s June 2020 Slate

OperaVision has announced its programming for the first half of June which will be mainly focused on English-language operas.

First up will be Opera North’s production of “Trouble in Tahiti” starring Wallis Giunta and Quirjin de Lang. Tobias Ringborg conducts.

Streaming Dates: June 2, 2020 – June 30, 2020

Next up will be another Bernstein work, this time “Candide” in a production from The Grange Festival. The work stars Rob Houchen, Katie Hall, Charles Rise, Robert Murray, Rosemary Ashe, Kitty Whately, and Richard Suart. Alfonso Casado Trigo conducts.

Streaming Dates: June 5-July 3, 2020

Garsington Opera’s production of “The Skating Rink” stars Grant Doyle, Ben Edquist, Sam Furness, Susan Bickley, Alan Oke and Lauren Zolezzi, among others. Garry Walker conducts the opera by David Sawer and Rory Mullarkey.

Streaming Dates: June 9 – Dec. 8, 2020

Schönberg’s “Moses und Aron” is the only non-English work programmed this month. The production hails from the Komische Oper Berlin stars Robert Hayward and John Daszak. Vladimir Jurowski conducts the production by Barrie Kosky.

Streaming Dates: June 12 – Sept. 11, 2020 

The company will present Glyndebourne’s production of “Vanessa” with Emma Bell, Edgaras Montvidas, and Rosalind Plowright. Jakub Hrůša conducts.

Stream Dates: June 14 – Sept. 14, 2020
