Wagner Society of New York to Stream Stephen Gould Masterclass

This past September, famed tenor Stephen Gould presented a masterclass with the Wagner Society of New York. This Friday, Dec. 11, 2020, audiences will get a chance to stream the showcase.

During the masterclass, Gould worked with three different heldentenors including Errin Duane Brooks, Jeremy Brauner, and Mauricio Trejo, all accompanied by pianist Craig Ketter. Throughout the class, Gould worked on style, diction, technique, and drama with regards to the Wagnerian repertory.

Gould is an American heldentenor renowned internationally as a top Wagnerian. Among his most renowned interpretations is the challenging role of Siegfried in Wagner’s “Der Ring des Nibelungen” which he has performed at the Vienna State Opera and the Bayreuth Festspiele, among other major houses. He has performed all around the world at the major opera houses in Vienna, Munich, Berlin, Paris, Rome, and London, as well as New York’s Metropolitan Opera, the New National Theatre in Tokyo, and the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires.
