‘Voices for Votes!’ Presents ‘A Night at the Opera’

By David Salazar

Several opera stars around the country will perform “Register Democrats and Save the World!” during an upcoming “A Night at the Opera” performance on Saturday, August 29 at 6 p.m. PST.

Performers on this concert include sopranos Maggie Finnegan and Kala Maxym; mezzo-soprano Lisa Chavez; tenor Rodell Rosel and Orson van Gay II; baritone Jorell Williams, and bass Reid Bruton.

“As both a citizen of this country and a stage performer, I have been consumed with three desires these past five months: to keep those around me healthy, to become a better advocate for those who are oppressed, and to get back to performing as soon as possible. I truly believe the best and really only way to achieve these goals is to vote this current administration out. It is my privilege to use my greatest passion of singing to help create a safer and freer country for us all to live in,” Finnegan said in a press release.

The concert is part of the “Voices for Votes!” series in support of Field Team 6, a voter registration organization seeking out new Democrats across 12 key battleground states. The series was created and curated by Maxym.
