VOCES8 Foundation Unveils ‘LIVE from London Summer 2024’

VOCES8 Foundation has announced its digital festival “LIVE from London Summer 2024.”

All concerts will be released on August 10 and available until Sept. 15, 2024.

The festival opens with “Morning Star,” a celebration of the 150th anniversary of Holst’s birth. Also on the program are works by Barber, Pärt, and “The Masquerade is Over,” arranged by tenor Blake Morgan.

Then comes Chanticleer’s “Music of a Silent World, which features an arrangement of Connery’s “The Rivers are Our Brothers.”

Mars Smith presents “Faroe Islands: Echoes on the Wind,” while Apollo5 showcases “Haven.”

Ex Cathedra will interpret Monteverdi’s “Vespers” and VOCES8 and VOCES8 Scholars team up with Lyyra for “The Final Sacrifice,” a program that explores English and German music from the 19th and 20th centuries. Composers featured in this latter program include Brahms, Mendelssohn, and Finzi, among others. VOCES8 and the VOCES8 Scholars present “Songs of Farewell,” including music by C.H.H. Parry and Tomás Luis de Victora.

Ringmasters present “It’s Showtime,” with works by Sondheim and Paula Sides, and Sergey Rybin interprets “La Voix Humaine.” China Moses and Fiachra Garvey present “Classical Soul” and “Fairytales and Fantasy” and VOCES8 Scholars showcase “Songs of Travel” by Vaughan Williams.
