VOCES8 Announces New Member

Grammy-nominated British vocal ensemble VOCES8 has announced that American soprano Virginia Taylor Grabovsky will join the group beginning July 2026, replacing outgoing member Eleonora Poignant.

Taylor Grabovsky auditioned in Spring 2026 and will make her debut with the ensemble on its North America tour, performing in Québec, Canada before returning to the UK for engagements at the Petworth Festival, Three Choirs Festival, and the VOCES8 International Summer School and Festival 2026 at Milton Abbey in Dorset. Poignant will give her final performance with the group in Graz, Austria on June 29.

Taylor Grabovsky trained with the Elm City Girls’ Choir and the United Choir School before focusing on sacred and early repertoire through the Yale Institute of Sacred Music. She has performed with the Amherst Early Music Festival, Duke University Chapel Chorworks, and the Spoleto Festival USA.

“From the very first phrase she sang in her audition, we were immediately moved by the beauty, honesty, and innate musicianship of her singing,” said Barnaby Smith, Co-founder and Artistic Director of VOCES8 and The VOCES8 Foundation, per an official press release. “There is something unmistakably special in her sound, and a natural connection to the way we make music together.”
