Voce di Meche to Present ‘Around the World in Song’

By David Salazar

Voce di Meche is set to present “Around the World in Song,” on Sept. 30, 2019 at St. John’s in the Village in New York City.

The concert is set to feature music from Argentina, China, Greece, Mexico, Kyrgzystan, Russian, South Korea, Spain, and Turkey with such singers as baritone Hyungjoo Eom, soprano Eugenia Forteza, soprano Idil Milliogullari, soprano Nina Mutalifu, soprano Nikoleta Rallis, tenor Pavel Sulyandziga, and baritone Gerardo de la Torre. Pianist Aza Sydykov will accompany.

“The audience will hear languages that are not often presented on recital programs, giving them a true international perspective. Each singer has chosen his/her own repertoire–art song, folk song, popular song, and arias,” said a press release announcing the concert.

This is the latest in a series of such concerts by Voce di Meche, which presented a similarly themed performance last Spring that featured music in Polish, Greek, Spanish, Swedish, Russian, and Korean.
