Vocalis Consort to Present ‘Amor Pasión’ at Princeton

By David Salazar

Vocalis Consort is set to present “Amor Pasión” on July 8, 2023 at Salon 33 in Princeton, New Jersey.

The showcase, which will spotlight Latin American songs from Argentina, Cuba, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, and Mexico will star tenor Paul Appleby, soprano Andrea Salazar, and mezzo-soprano Eugenia Forteza. They will be joined by pianist Martin Néron.

“Amor Pasión” kicks off at 8 p.m. and will be preceded by food and drinks at 7 p.m. Donations from this concert will be used to support the Latin American Song Prize during the Fellowship Competition of the Federation of Art Song this November.

Per its official website, Vocalis Consort aims “to feature works that have been traditionally overlooked in addition to excelling in performing the core of the Mélodie and Lied repertoire. Our ensemble helps performers and audiences find and broaden the scope of the art song recital beyond the ‘traditional’ Western European canon.”
