Vocal Arts DC to Present Rod Gilfry in Virtual Recital

Vocal Arts DC has announced that it will be presenting bass-baritone, Rod Gilfry in recital.

The showcase, which will see the opera star alongside pianist, Peter Walsh, will be available for streaming from Feb. 26 through March 9, 2021.

The duo will perform a wide of repertory including Poulenc’s “Le bestaire,” Ravel’s “Don Quichotte a Dulcinée,” Lauridsen’s “Two Songs on American Poems,” Ives’ “The Housatonic at Stockbridge,” Debussy’s “Green,” as well as songs by Jake Heggie and Fauré. Additionally, Gilfry will present a series of songs arranged by himself, Matthew Aucoin, and Walsh.

This is the latest in an ongoing series of online recitals by Vocal Arts DC. The organization will also present a recital featuring soprano, Lise Davidsen and pianist James Baillieu streaming in late March 2021 and another headlined by mezzo-soprano, Emily D’Angelo and pianist, Sophia Munoz scheduled for April 2021.
