
Vladimir Jurowski Extends Contract with Rundfunk Orchester und Chöre gGmbH Berlin
By Francisco SalazarVladimir Jurowski has extended his contract with the Rundfunk Orchester und Chöre gGmbH Berlin (ROC) until 2029.
In a statement, Jurowski said, “I am very happy about the renewed extension of the collaboration with the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin. The commitment, curiosity, and enthusiasm of the musicians has been the foundation of our wonderful joint work for years. My thanks also go to the Berlin audience, who follow our concerts with such passion and concentration. The orchestra and the whole RSB team still have many plans together!”
Anselm Rose, ROC’s Managing Director and CEO added, “It is a particular pleasure for me that Vladimir Jurowski and the RSB are once again extending their successful cooperation and that Jurowski will remain associated with the orchestra as Artistic Director and Chief Conductor until 2029.”
Jurowski has been Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin since 2017, and during the 2023-24 season, he toured and recorded with the orchestra. He has also been the General Music Director of the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich since 2021.
