Quantum Theatre and Chatham Baroque will team up for a new production of “Idaspe” this fall.

The showcase, which will take place between Oct. 7-15, 2022 at the Byham Theater in Pittsburgh, will represent the first full production of the Broschi opera since 1730. This edition of the score will also be the first in modern notation.

The production will be headlined by Vivica Genaux who will take on the role of Dario. The cast will also star John Holiday, Karim Sulayman, Pascale Beaudin, Amanda Lynn Bottoms, Shannon Delijani, and Wei En Chan.

Antonia Franceschi will choreograph the production, which will feature scenic designs by Narelle Sissons. The lighting design will be by Japhy Weideman with costumes created by Susan Tsu. Daniela Nesta Curtis conducts.

All attendees must present proof of COVID-19; those unable to get vaccinated because of a medical condition must present a negative COVID-19 antigen test within 24 hours of the performance or a negative PCR test within 72 hours.
