Vittorio Pratto, Carlo Lepore & Maria José Siri Lead Teatro Filarmonico’s 2021 Season

The Teatro Filarmonico in Verona has announced a 2021 season featuring streamed performances and live performances.

The season opens with Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di Sivilgia.” Michele Spotti conducts Pier Francesco Maestrini’s production starring Francisco Brito, Carlo Lepore, Chiara Tirotta, Mario Cassi, and Riccardo Fassi.

Streaming Date: Jan. 31, 2021

Ponchielli’s “Il Parlatore eterno” will be conducted by Daniel Oren.  Stefano Trespidi conducts the production, which stars Biagio Pizzuti. The opera will be performed ina  double bill with Puccini’s “Il Tabarro.” Oren conducts a cast that stars Kiril Manolov, Maria José Siri, and Samuele Simoncini.

Streaming Date: Feb. 28, 2021

Giulio Prandi conducts Maria Grazia Schiavo in the cantata “Didone Abbandonata.” Prandi also conducts Purcell’s “Dido and Æneas” starring Josè Maria Lo Monaco, Renato Dolcini, and Maria Grazia Schiavo.

Streaming Date: March 28, 2021

Valerio Galli conducts the Antologia verista with music by Pietro Mascagni, Francesco Cilea, and Alfredo Catalani. The performance also features Mascagni’s “Zanetto” starring Asude Karayavuz and Donata D’Annunzio Lombardi.

Performance Dates: May 9-16, 2021

Mozart’s “Così fan tutte” is set to be conducted by Francesco Ommassini and star Vittoria Yeo, Chiara Tirotta, Alessandro Luongo, Marco Ciaponi, Enkeleda Kamani, and Alfonso Antoniozzi. 

Performance Dates: Oct. 31-Nov. 7, 2021

The season concludes with a double bill of Poulenc’s “La Voix Humaine” and Menotti’s “The Telephone.” Francesco Lanzillotta conducts the works in productions by Federica Zagatti Wolf-Ferrari. Lavinia Bini, Daniela Cappiello, and Vittorio Prato star.
