Virginia Opera to Showcase ‘One Hour – Three Acts #NoFilter’
By David SalazarVirginia Opera will present the “One Hour – Three Acts #NoFilter” on Sept. 26, 2025 and Oct. 3, 2025.
The showcase, which is part of the Variation Series, will feature three new English-language operas including Christopher Weiss and John de los Santso’ “Service Proider,” a satire on the culture of tech-obsession in the context of an anniversary dinner. Also on the sale is Robert Paterson and Mark Campbell’s “The Whole Truth,” a story about a woman’s inner series and social façade. Jake Heggie and Gene Scheer’s “Cinderella 99,” a pandemic-era family comedy will close out the program.
There will be no traditional stage with audience and performers sharing the space.
“The Variations Series allows us to take artistic risks, embrace bold storytelling, and connect with audiences in new ways,” said Adam Turner, Artistic Director of Virginia Opera, per an official press release. “Bringing this series back with such clever, relatable works is the perfect way to celebrate its return while ensuring we continue to provide audiences with fresh, exciting stories.”
