Vienna State Opera To Live Stream ‘Tosca’ With Muraveva, Calleja, & Iconic Scarpia Interpreter

The Vienna State Opera will live stream Puccini’s “Tosca” on Friday, Dec. 6, 2019.

The opera will showcase soprano Evgenia Muraveva in the title role with Joseph Calleja as her lover Cavaradossi and Bryn Terfel in his signature role of Scarpia.

The production, directed by Margarethe Wallmann, will be conducted by Marco Armiliato.

The stream kicks off at 7 p.m. local time. That’s around 1 p.m. EDT and 10 a.m. PST for the start time.

Per the official website, tickets start at 16 euros (approximately $16 USD) and can be purchased right off the Vienna State Opera’s streaming website. There are options for monthly subscriptions to future performances on the service depending on users’ preference to experience opera from the comfort of their homes.

Closing out the live streams from the Vienna State Opera in 2019 will be “La Bohème,” and “Die Fledermaus.”
