Vienna State Opera To Live Stream ‘Tosca’ Starring Nina Stemme, Piotr Beczala

Audiences will get a chance to see the Vienna State Opera’s production of Puccini’s “Tosca” via the company’s live stream service this Sunday, June 23, 2019.

The iconic opera will star Nina Stemme in the title role with Piotr Beczala as Cavaradossi. Carlos Alvarez rounds out an all-star cast that will be conducted by Marco Armiliato. Margarethe Wallmann directs.

The stream kicks off at 7 p.m. local time and is slated to run until around 9:45 p.m. That’s around 1 p.m. EDT and 10 a.m. PST for the start time.

Per the official website, tickets start at 14 euros (approximately $16 USD) and can be purchased right off the Vienna State Opera’s streaming website. There are options for monthly subscriptions to future performances on the service depending on users’ preference to experience opera from the comfort of their homes.

Next up on the slate of live streams will be “Aida,” the final opera of the 2018-19 season.
