Verdi’s “Rigoletto” will get the live stream treatment at the Vienna State Opera on May 9, 2019. But there will a nice twist for audiences.

Joseph Calleja will take on the role of the villainous Duke of Mantua with Andrea Carroll as Gilda. Christopher Maltman will interpret the title role with Jongmin and Nadia Krasteva as Sparafucile and Maddalena, respectively.

Giampaolo Maria Bisanti will conduct the production directed by Pierre Audi.

The stream kicks off at 7 p.m. local time and is slated to run until around 9:45 p.m. That’s around 2:30 p.m. EDT and 11:30 a.m. PST for the start time.

Unlike other broadcasts, which are usually offered at a cost, this performance will be completely free for viewers, courtesy of OMV.
