The Vienna State Opera has announced two cast changes for “La Fanciulla del West.”

The company revealed that Carlo Rizzi will be conducting the entire run of the opera on Jan. 7, 10, 12, and 15 in lieu of Simone Young. Additionally, Roberto Frontali will sing the role of Jack Rance, replacing the originally scheduled Carlos Álvarez.

Frontali and Rizzi join a cast starring Malin Byström as Minnie and Yonghoon Lee as Dick Johnson. Other cast mates include Carlos Osuna, Dan Paul Dumitrescu, Attila Mokus, Thomas Ebenstein, Stephano Park, Jack Lee, Andrea Giovannini, and Clemens Unterreiner, among others.

Frontali has recently performed with such companies as the Teatro Massimo di Palermo, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, and New National Theatre Tokyo, among others.
