The Vienna State Opera has announced a cast change for the Feb. 22, 2022 performance of “Anna Bolena.”

For the second time in this run, Nicholas Brownlee will join the famed opera, taking on the role of Enrico VIII. He joins a cast starring Diana Damrau in the title role with Ekaterina Semenchuk as Giovanna Seymour and Pene Pati as Percy.

Brownlee had previously stepped into the performance on Feb. 12, 2022, replacing Erwin Schrott as Enrico.

The Feb. 22 performance is the final one in the run.

Brownlee recently appeared at the Wiener Staatsoper and the Metropolitan Opera in productions of “La Bohème” and was also seen at the Opernhaus Zurich. This season he is scheduled to perform at the Oper Frankfurt in productions of “Fedora,” “Die Frau ohne Schatten,” and “Krol Roger.”
