Vienna State Opera 2017-18 Live Stream: Lise Lindstrom, Roberto Alagna, Aleksandra Kurzak Star in ‘Turandot’

Puccini’s “Turandot” hits the web this week from the Vienna State Opera as part of its live stream series throughout the season.

The showcase on April 20 is set to star Lise Lindstrom in the title role of the icy princess while Roberto Alagna plays Calaf and his wife Aleksandra Kurzak takes on the role of Liù. Frédéric Chaslin conducts while Marco Arturo Marelli directs.

The stream kicks off at 7:30 p.m. local time and is slated to run until around 10 p.m. That’s around 2:30 p.m. EDT and 11:30 a.m. PST for the start time.

Per the official website, tickets start at 14 euros (approximately $16 USD) and can be purchased right off the Vienna State Opera’s streaming website. There are options for monthly subscriptions to future performances on the service depending on users’ preference for experience opera from the comfort of their homes.

Next up on the slate of live streams will be “Andrea Chénier,” “Simon Boccanegra,” “Capriccio,” “La Traviata,” “Rigoletto,” “Der Freischütz,” “Lohengrin,” and “Falstaff.”
