The Vienna Boy’s Choir has canceled its upcoming tour due to the Coronavirus.

The organization announced that due to the “increasing corona numbers and the lack of vaccination options for children under the age of 12, the Vienna Boys’ Choir has canceled all tours abroad until 2022 including the Christmas tours to the USA and Germany, which are so important for the economic survival of the choir.”

The organization also added the constant cancelations have “caused great distress” and it hopes “it can at least partially offset the financial losses with creative ideas and help from the public sector.”

Despite the obstacles, the Vienna Boy’s Choir announced that the ensemble was able to record a new CD, which will be entitled “Together” and will be released by Deutsche Grammophon in October.
