Victorian Opera to Present ‘Lorelei’ Revival

The Victorian Opera is set to present “Lorelei” at the Palais Theatre in Melbourne from June 29 to July 2.

The production will star Ali McGregor, Antoinette Halloran, and Dimity Shepherd in the opera which made its world premiere in 2018 and received critical acclaim. The work also received two Green Room Awards for Best New Australian Work and Best Set and Costumes (Opera).

The work was written by Casey Bennetto and Gillian Cosgriff with music by Julian Langdon. The revival production is by Sarah Giles who received a nomination for the Helpmann Award. Phoebe Briggs conducts the production with set and costumes by Marg Horwell and lighting design by Paul Jackson. The sound design will be by Jim Atkins.

The 75-minute work will receive four performances with subtitles.
