Sofitel Melbourne On Collins and Victorian Opera have unveiled “Behind the Curtain,” a photographic exhibition celebrating the behind-the-scenes artistry of opera

The exhibition, which opened June 22 in conjunction with Fête de la Musique, features photographs by Casey Horsfield captured during Victorian Opera productions. The images document artists, musicians, costume makers, technicians, and creative teams at work.

“We are delighted to share these unseen moments with visitors through our partnership with Sofitel Melbourne On Collins,” said Stuart Maunder AM, Artistic Director of Victorian Opera, per an official press release. “Each performance we stage at Victorian Opera is the result of hundreds of individuals working together and we encourage everyone seeing this exhibition to join us for a live performance, now with these added insights of what happens behind the curtain.”

“Behind the Curtain” is presented exclusively at Sofitel Melbourne On Collins.
