Victoria Opera Company Announces Fall 2020 Cancelations

By David Salazar

Victorian Opera has announced that it will be canceling several productions originally planned for the fall season.

Among the productions affected are “Margaret Fulton: The Musical,” which was originally scheduled to take place on Sept. 15-19 at Arts Centre Melbourne. The same goes for Franz Schubert’s “The Friends of Salamanca,” which was slated for performance between Sept. 25-26 at Arts Centre Melbourne; this production has now been postponed until 2021.

“Victorian Opera’s decisions in response to COVID-19 have always been made in accordance with public health measures to ensure the safety of Victorian Opera’s community of audiences, artists and staff amidst the ongoing pandemic,” stated Artistic Director Richard Mills in a press statement.

“Our company has many more digital projects to share throughout 2020 with works being produced for all ages. We are excited to return to the magic of live performance when it is safe to do so.”
