Victoria Bond’s Cutting Edge Concerts New Music Announces October 2024 Showcase

Cutting Edge Concerts New Music Festival will present a special concert on Oct. 9, 2024.

The showcase will feature arias from Victoria Bond’s “Mrs. President” about the first woman to run for president 150 years ago. The showcase will feature soprano Amy Justman and pianist Mila Henry. Also on the program is Bond’s “Four Strings Around the World” featuring violinist Irina Muresanu.

The showcase also features works by Violeta Dinescu, Dave Flynn, Reza Vali, Shirish Korde, Mikhail Johnson, Scott Flavin, and Jerod Impichaachaaha Tate.

The event kicks off at 7:30 p.m.

Bond founded the Cutting Edge Concerts in 1998. The series has presented over 300 new works by more than 200 composers. Bond is also a composer, conductor, and lecturer who has been praised for her compositions by The New York Times as “powerful, stylistically varied and technically demanding,” and her conducting has been called “impassioned” by the Wall Street Journal and “full of energy and fervor” by The New York Times.
