Vesselina Kasarova Appointed Professor of Seoul National University

Vesselina Kasarova has been appointed professor of the Vocal Music Department at the Seoul National University.

The mezzo-soprano announced the news via social media stating, “A new era in my professional life. Vesselina Kasarova professor Seoul National University College of music.”

The Bulgarian mezzo-soprano is one of the most recognized Bel Canto and Mozart interpreters of her generation having performed at the Wiener Staatsoper, Zürich Opera, Salzburg Festival, Glyndebourne Festival, Bayerische Staatsoper, and Rossini Opera Festival. She has also performed works by Bizet, Verdi, Berlioz, Wagner, Strauss, Massenet, and Bartok.

Her recording catalog is immense featuring works by Rossini, Bizet, Tchaikovsky, Offenbach, Monteverdi, and Händel.

Recently she performed concerts in Zurich and in a production of “Cavalleria Rusticana” in Lisbon.
