
Verdi Chorus Announces Masterclass with Malcolm MacKenzie
By David SalazarThe Verdi Chorus will continue its 42nd season with a master class led by dramatic baritone Malcolm MacKenzie on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.
The event, which is set to take place at the First Presbyterian Church in Santa Monica, will feature six members of the Verdi Chorus’ Fox Singers.
MacKenzie has appeared at major opera houses in the United States and Europe, including the Metropolitan Opera, New York City Opera, the Paris Opera (Bastille), Savonlinna Festival, Washington National Opera, and Los Angeles Opera. During the 2025–26 season, MacKenzie returns to the Metropolitan Opera for “Innocence,” sings Pandolfe in “Cendrillon” with North Carolina Opera, and appears with Austin Opera for its 40th Anniversary Gala.
During the master class, the Fox Singers will receive coaching focused on vocal technique, musical style, and interpretation, offering professional development opportunities for singers pursuing operatic careers.
