Verbier Festival Teams Up with Stanford Live

By Francisco Salazar

The Verbier Festival has announced that it’s partnering with Stanford Live.

The unique residency, presented by Stanford Live in collaboration with the university’s Department of Music, will feature a week-long series of events from April 21-25, 2025.

The project will be an opportunity to exchange ideas, collaborate with Stanford students, engage the broader community, and foster long-term partnerships at Stanford. Many of the events will be open to the public, providing broader access to the artistic process and fostering a deeper connection with the community.

Stanford students will also be able to attend open rehearsals and panel discussions and work closely with Verbier musicians, exploring repertoire, refining performance techniques, and participating in masterclasses and coaching.

In a statement, Iris Nemani, McMurtry Family Director, Stanford Live said “At Stanford Live, we are committed to providing Stanford students with opportunities to learn from and engage with the world’s most respected artists. The residency of the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra is a perfect example of this effort—an invaluable experience to engage deeply with esteemed musicians and arts administrators from one of Europe’s most renowned classical music ensembles that will shape their own trajectories as young artists and arts leaders. This collaboration, which has come together through the dedication of everyone on both sides of the Atlantic, is a highlight of our season. We’re excited to welcome the orchestra to campus and look forward to the rich exchange of ideas and music that will take place.”

This year, the Verbier Festival will take place between July 16 and August 3, 2025.
